Medica Forte’s Nurse at Home service

As a small company we can more easily tailor fit our service and offerings to our patients, creating stronger ties, trust and repeat customers.

  • Service Led – not sales driven
  • 100% delivery focused
  • Completely patient centric

Our mantra is quality over quantity and working in close partnership with our customers is at the core of our business. In other words, less is more.

In order to support this approach we are committed to remaining a small agile, adaptable business that can focus on being customer and patient centric. You are our priority, it’s that simple.

We maintain high ethical standards both personally and professionally, we treat people with respect, stand our ground on our ethical standards and strongly believe in doing the right thing.

We are 100% privately owned – This means we don’t have any shareholders or investors pushing for a return on investments.

Our mission is to remove the stress associated with your IVF journey. Our expert nurses can visit you in your own home to help coach you through the most daunting points of your journey. This can be for a first-night injection ‘refresher’ or for continued daily visits throughout the stimulation phase of treatment.

We have developed this unique service after hearing time and time again from women who felt they needed additional, professional and hands-on help during the most crucial parts of their treatment cycle.

Our Nurse at Home offers the below five services:

Our nurse can visit you in your own home to help you feel comfortable with the task of self-injecting subcutaneously.

The nurse will be with you for up to an hour to talk through injection techniques and aftercare of the injection site.

Intramuscular or Subcutaneous injection can be administered in your home as per your personal protocol. For example, Decapeptyl or Zoladex.

If it’s the intralipid drip you are interested in, we are happy to help, once we have received your prescription from your clinic. Our specialist nursing team can visit you at home and administer IVF Intralipid Infusion treatment.

  • Our specialist nursing team can visit you at home and administer IVF Intralipd Infusion treatment.
  • Intralipid (IL), is a synthetic product composed of 10% soybean oil, 1,2% egg yolk phospholipids, 2.25% glycerin and water.
  • A typical course of IVF intralipid treatment is two infusions: the first one takes place seven to 10 days before your scheduled egg retrieval; the second on your embryo transfer day.
  • Some clinics propose a third infusion after a positive pregnancy test and monthly ones until the 13-week mark.

A 2-hour medications teach in your home.

A 1 hour video call to help you with your medication.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed?

Feeling a bit overwhelmed and you’ve only just started? So, now you know a little about us, we hope you are curious as to how our Nurse at Home service can help your own IVF journey.

We know how that feels, we want to help.

So, you are now at home waiting for your medication to arrive – and yes you had a great medication ‘how to’ teaching session a few weeks ago.

However, since then you have been thinking about actually doing it for yourself. If you have doubts or are overwhelmed and stressed about it all, don’t panic we can help you.

Perhaps you are worried that your clinic outside of the UK will be unable to provide any practical support for you when you get home, so that’s exactly where we come in, to fill that gap!

Are you wanting to regain some control or just feel supported? Then our Nurse at Home may be exactly what you need. You may only need someone to help you with the first time you have to self inject – maybe just one visit is enough at the beginning of your stimulation phase.

Having an experienced Nurse in your corner can help you overcome those thoughts & feelings of ‘where do I start’ and ‘what do I do next’. You are likely yearning for someone to turn to just now at the beginning – we can have you feeling confident for those injections.

And to keep it simple, we also provide the medication and syringes and sharps bin.

If you are feeling a bit overwhelmed by the process, we also offer one-on-one support sessions to help with those needle nerves. The number of sessions will be determined by you and will end when you feel comfortable mixing and administering the medication on your own.

Coaching services are available on an ‘as needed’ basis and can range from home visits in person – to remote help from an IVf specialist nurse. You will need to ask us if we cover your area for this service, as parts of the UK are unfortunately excluded.

Injections will be done in your home. You must have the required medication(s) and all supplies. (which we will dispense to you)

Intralipid infusions have been used with IVF treatment to help women who suffer from repeated IVF failure or recurrent miscarriage, or repeated failed implantation following embryo transfer. Fees for administering an Intralipid Infusion: £375 plus delivery, and sometimes plus an extra mileage based on your location and availability of our nurses.

Services provided are not intended to be a substitute for seeking medical advice, medical diagnosis, or medical treatment from your physician, or from following any medical advice, medical diagnosis, or medical treatment given by your physician or specialist clinic nurse.

We know that not everybody needs some nurse support, but we also know that some IVF patients do. As it says at the top, we are small, agile and flexible, so please ask us and we will try our very best to help.

Discretion is of paramount importance to us:

  • We will send you details of the nurse who will be visiting you. You will have the option of liaising with your nurse once we have booked a date and time with you.
  • Our nurses are all dressed with discretion and will always carry their ID.
  • If you decide that you would like a subsequent visit, then we can arrange that directly with you.
  • Please rest assured that all of our nurses have passed all of our stringent recruitment requirements.
